Vitiligo Segmental

Segmental vitiligo is different from non segmental vitiligo, hence the whole treatment procedure is quite different. The major effect of segmental vitiligo is on those parts of skin that may be associated to the dorsal roots along the spine. It is commonly quite unilateral. The rate of spread is much more expedient in this form of vitiligo in comparison to the non segmental one. Non Segmental Vitiligo
The more common and well-known type of vitiligo is non segmental vitiligo. In this type, there is basically no form of symmetry of the depigmentation patches. There is also tendency for newer patches which can be generalized over the larger portions of body or even localized to specific areas. A severe condition of non segmental vitiligo is vitiligo universalis. This type of vitiligo is more spread over the body and merely few little patches of pigmented skin are left. Contrary to the segmental vitiligo, this type can come at any age and is not prevalent only in the teenage years.
